Though a man of faith, Rodrigo was also in thrall to the pleasures of the flesh. Not only did he have to deal with the plotting and conspiracies of his fellow cardinals and the representatives of the great powers, but he was locked in a struggle to contain the bitter sibling rivalries that threatened to tear his family apart. "Borgia" is a cauldron of intrigue, violence, murder, lust, politics, faith, incest, betrayal and redemption, a story as compelling and enlightening as the age in which it takes place.

la serie creata da Tom Fontana che racconta le vicende e gli intrighi dei Borgia, una delle famiglie più influenti nella Roma rinascimentale, insieme agli Orsini ed ai Colonna. La stagione è ambientata a Urbino e Tarquinia, con il Palazzo Ducale voluto da Federico da Montefeltro. E non mancano new entry nel cast: Danny Szam nel ruolo di Michelangelo Buonarrotti, Thibaut Evrard in quelli di Niccolò Machiavelli e Ian Glen in Girolamo Savonarola.

Nella terza stagione, che sarà l'ultima della serie, per i Borgia si avvicina una fase delicata della storia: il passaggio tra il 400 e il 500. Lucrezia salva Rodrigo dalla cantarella, ma gli Sforza tramano per uccidere la famiglia del Papa. Vediamo le anticipazioni dei primi due episodi in onda questa sera. Nel primo episodio Lucrezia è a capo del Vaticano, mentre Rodrigo Borgia continua il suo ritiro spirituale. Nel seconda episodio Rodrigo torna in Vaticano e sua figlia Lucrezia si ritrova in una posizione delicata.
