Shameless ? una serie tv americana, ideata da Paul Abbott e ambientata a Chicago che vede protagonista la famiglia Gallagher e il suo patriarca Frank (William H. Macy), padre alcolizzato e imbroglione, abbandonato dalla moglie, che lo ha lasciato solo a crescere i suoi figli.
A svolgere il ruolo di "mamma" ? Fiona (Emmy Rossum), la figlia maggiore, che nonostante l'et?, prende in mano le redini della famiglia, disposta a sacrificare la sua vita per dare un futuro migliore ai suoi fratelli. Lip Gallagher (Jeremy Allen White) ? il secondogenito, ottimo studente e con grandi piani per il futuro, Ian (Cameron Morgan) invece trascorre le sue giornate tra scuola e lavoro e infine abbiamo Carl (Ethan Cutkosky), la sorella Debbie (Emma Kenney), e Liam (Blake Alexander Johnson) che sono i pi? piccoli di casa Gallagher.
In questa quinta stagione troveremo Fiona che dopo essere uscita di prigione riprende a vivere la sua vita lavorando come cameriere presso una tavola calda. La ragazza intraprender? una relazione con un musicista rock ma parallelamente approfondir? la sua conoscenza con il padrone del locale, Sean Pierce interpretato da Dermot Mulroney. Il peggiorare delle condizioni di Ian, affetto da bipolarismo, suscita le preoccupazioni di Mickey (Noel Fisher) e della famiglia Gallagher, con Ian che per? negher? l?aggravarsi della sua malattia.
Debbie continua ad affrontare i problemi tipici dell?et? adolescenziale mentre Sammi (Emily Bergl), la figlia di Frank avuta da un altra donna, si interesser? di pi? alla vita dei suoi familiari. Frank cerca di ristabilirsi dopo il recente trapianto di fegato. L?uomo si innamorer? della sua dottoressa, Bianca (Bojana Novakovic), che per? lotta contro un cancro.
