Il CD è un omaggio di Peixoto a Sinatra.
Il repertorio fu scelto dallo stesso Cauby e registarto dal vivo, al Teatro Fecap di San Paolo.
Tra i tanti classici sempre verdi le mie preferite sono senz'ombra di dubbio:
"I've got you under my skin" (Cole Porter), "Strangers in the night" (E. Snyder / C. Singleton / Bert Kaempfert), "All the way" (Sammy Cahn / Jimmy Van Heusen), e "All the things you are" (Jerome Kern / Oscar Hammerstein II).
Successi da tutti noti come "Fly me to the moon" (Bart Howard), "Moon river" (Johnny Mercer / Henry Mancini), e "New York, New York" (Fred Ebb / John Kander) non vengono meno.
Insomma, a tutti gli effetti un bel gioiellino.
Il disco è cantato in duetto, voglio ricordare tra gli altri Dionne Warmick, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso ecc...
Credo proprio che Peixoto possa essere l'unico artista brasiliano a potersi permettere di mettersi in gioco con il repertorio cantato da Sinatra.
Cauby aveva una voce bnedetta capace di cantare anch innanzi ed al cospetto di grandi orchestre.
Siamo tutti certi che se fosse nato lá, negli Stati Uniti invece che in Brasile, (nella terra di Sinatra,
tu, con cento e più album registrati, con certezza) Sinatra avrebbe un vicino alla sua altezza nella statua dedicategli.
