PREMESSA:
"Boogie Nights" in Italia ha avuto come sottotitolo "L'altra Hollywood", poichè racconta le vicende di un attore un po' particolare, ovvero un pornodivo. La sceneggiatura, che è stata scritta dal regista Paul Thomas Anderson, si basa sulla vicenda vera di John Holmes.
Il protagonista di "Boogie Nights" si chiama invece Eddie Adams, in arte Dirk Diggler, il quale è un giovane che viene notato da un regista di film pornografici e viene da lui portato al successo, cui però segue un inevitabile declino. Gli attori del cast sono Mark Whalberg, Burt Reynolds, Julianne Moore e Philip Seymour Hoffman.
La colonna sonora di "Boogie Nights" cerca di trasmettere l'atmosfera degli anni settanta, epoca in cui è ambientato il film, e ripropone moltissimi brani di quel periodo come "Best of My Love," "Jungle Fever", pezzi folk-pop come "Brand New Key", o funk come "Spill the Wine" e "Machine Gun" , ma anche soft rock ("Magnet & Steel", e heavy metal ("Sister Christian".
Oltre a questo ci sono anche dei brani originali, come ad esempio "Feel the Heat" e "You got the touch", che nel film vengono registrati dallo stesso Dirk.
