L'ultimo spettacolo messo in piedi da Max è stato un fiasco totale. Per colmo di sfortuna è venuto a rovistare nei suoi conti Léon, un impiegato delle imposte timido e impacciato quanto si vuole ma pur sempre deciso a portare a termine il proprio dovere. Léon scopre che c'è un modo semplice per frodare il fisco ed è quello di mettere in scena un lavoro teatrale destinato a sicuro insuccesso. Cogliendo al volo l'idea dell'impiegato Max non ci pensa su due volte e, dopo aver cercato allestisce uno spettacolo. Dopo lunghe ricerche la scelta cade su ""La primavera di Hitler"", uno dei più orrendi copioni della storia dello spettacolo.
Max's latest performance was a total fiasco. For the sake of misfortune, Léon, an idle and clumsy tax clerk, has been robbed of what he wants, but always determined to carry out his duty. Léon discovers that there is a simple way to defeat the tax system and is to stage a theatrical work for sure failure. By catching the fly Max's idea of Max does not think twice and, after trying to set up a show. After long research, the choice falls on "Hitler's Spring", one of the most horrible scripts in the history of the show.
