Il titolare dell'Agenzia immobiliare Powels ingaggia Spirito Santo per la cattura di un fuorilegge, detto il Solitario, che ruba armi assassinando i militari per venderle poi a un generale rivoluzionario messicano. Spirito Santo è aiutato da cinque ex compagni d'avventure: Diego d'Asburgo (falso prete), il "pirata" Morgan, Caccola, Garibaldi e il Padre (ex pastore anglicano). Giungono dalla Sicilia a Springfield due cugini di Garibaldi, con il compito di vendicare la morte di un congiunto. Le iniziative dei due si intrecciano con quelle di Spirito Santo, il quale viene a scoprire che il Solitario è lo stesso Powels. Questi è poi ucciso dalla fidanzata Elizabet, orditrice di tutti i misfatti, la quale finisce anche lei ammazzata.
The Powels Real Estate Agent hires the Holy Spirit for the capture of an outlaw called the Solitaire who steals weapons by killing soldiers to sell them to a Mexican revolutionary general. The Holy Spirit is helped by five former adventurous companions: Diego d'Asburgo (false priest), the "pirate" Morgan, Caccola, Garibaldi and the Father (former Anglican Shepherd). Two cousins of Garibaldi arrive from Sicily at Springfield with the task of avenging the death of a fellow. The initiatives of the two are interwoven with those of the Holy Spirit, which comes to discover that the Solitary is the same Powels. This is then killed by his girlfriend Elizabeth, wandering off all the misdeeds, which also killed her.
