Il Grande Spirito, il film diretto da Sergio Rubini, è ambientato in un quartiere della periferia di Taranto, quando durante una rapina, uno dei tre complici, un cinquantenne dall'aria malmessa, Tonino (Sergio Rubini) approfittando della distrazione degli altri due, ruba tutto il malloppo e scappa. Il suo è un gesto di riscatto nei confronti di chi non ha più rispetto del suo lungo e onorato curriculum delinquenziale, macchiato da un fatale errore, che gli è valso l'ignominioso appellativo di Barboncino. La corsa di Tonino, inseguito dai suoi complici sempre più infuriati, procede verso l'alto, di tetto in tetto fino a raggiungere la terrazza più elevata, oltre la quale c'è lo strapiombo, che lo costringe a cercare rifugio in un vecchio lavatoio. Lì trova uno strano individuo (Rocco Papaleo) dall'aspetto eccentrico: porta una piuma d'uccello dietro l'orecchio, sostiene di chiamarsi Cervo Nero, di appartenere alla tribù dei Sioux e aggiunge che il Grande Spirito in persona gli aveva preannunciato l'arrivo dell'Uomo del destino!
Il Grande Spirito, the film directed by Sergio Rubini, is set in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Taranto, when during a robbery, one of the three accomplices, a fifty-year-old with a bad air, Tonino (Sergio Rubini) taking advantage of the distraction of the other two steals all the loot and runs away. His is a gesture of redemption towards those who no longer respect his long and honorable delinquent curriculum, tainted by a fatal error, which earned him the ignominious name of Poodle. Tonino's race, pursued by his increasingly angry accomplices, proceeds upwards, from roof to roof until it reaches the highest terrace, beyond which there is the precipice, which forces him to seek refuge in an old wash-house . There he finds a strange individual (Rocco Papaleo) with an eccentric appearance: he carries a bird's feather behind his ear, he claims to be called Black Deer, to belong to the tribe of the Sioux and adds that the Great Spirit in person had foretold him the arrival of the Man of Destiny!
