Da un fumetto underground di James O'Barr. Un anno dopo essere stato assassinato con la sua ragazza, il chitarrista rock Eric Draven (raven = corvo) esce dalla tomba. Invulnerabile e scortato da un corvo, si accinge a una vendetta che ha per scopo la morte dei suoi assassini e per traguardo la riunione definitiva nell'aldilà con l'amata. Zeppo di citazioni, ricco di stereotipi di cultura "bassa", quest'opera prima di un egiziano emigrato in Australia e premiato regista pubblicitario (lo si vede nel montaggio forsennato) è un film manieristico di forte suggestione che ha il proprio fine nella scrittura. Morto durante le riprese, colpito da una pallottola vera invece che a salve, il protagonista, figlio di Bruce Lee, è sostituito in alcune scene dalla sua immagine virtuale creata con tecniche digitali.
