Uscita dalla penna del celebre sceneggiatore Aaron Sorkin (Oscar 2011 per The Social Network), The Newsroom è la serie televisiva della HBO subentrata nell’estate 2012 nella fascia oraria di Games of Thrones. Negli Stati Uniti si sta appena concludendo la 2^ stagione (e preannunciata la terza da Jeff Daniels su Twitter) ed ora finalmente arriva in Italia, in prima visione assoluta, la prima (10 episodi di circa 60’ l’uno), trasmessa da Rai3 in prima serata a partire dal prossimo 17 ottobre. La serie racconta le vicissitudini lavorative, umane, politiche e amorose della redazione del fittizio network statunitense ACN (Atlantic Cable News) che si raccoglie attorno all’anchorman Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels), il cui popolare volto compare ogni sera, all’ora di cena, sulle televisioni di circa metà degli americani. Cinico, antiabortista, repubblicano, McAvoy si trova presto a scontrarsi con i vertici della società.
